We are starting a mentoring and tutoring partnership with college students across the country to help at risk kids and youth. The time is NOW to take back the hopes, dreams, and lives of our young people. Too many of our youth are willowing away from the pressures of social media and feeling hopeless. We want to pair our young people with relatable college students that can assist them with navigating this very fragile time in life. The SCHOOL to PRISON pipeline is real, and we must do everything possible to stop it. Our goal is to create a safe and inviting space for kids and youth to feel seen and heard. The interesting dynamic of college students who were not long ago that perplexed kid/youth, provides us a greater possibility of success. WE CAN DO THIS!

The majority of those incarcerated, come from single parent homes, had a parent battling addiction, or other hindrances to their childhood perceptions. There is no fair chance when the odds are already against you. Yet, we are quick to sentence juveniles to extreme sentences for first offenses that could have been avoided with the right investment. Who really cares? We have prepared an introduction letter for the students that you can pass along to a student you know. We need the help of our community and organizations to push this initiative. If a college student had just 1-2 hours a week to donate to a young person, there's no telling the impact that would have.

To Our Future

Dear Students,

Greetings on behalf of the 40 Strong Organization. We are reaching out to you regarding an urgent need

in today's society. OUR YOUNG PEOPLE NEED HELP! We are looking to form an impregnable

allegiance of college students as well as high school students to usher hope inside our young people. Our

ultimate goal is to stop the school to prison pipeline that's currently churning inside of our major cities,

towns and communities all across America. WE NEED YOU!!

We are not trying to sound melodramatic here, however this issue is serious. The 40 Strong Organization

was founded in Virginia in 2021 to help educate and prepare Virginia prisoners to return to society. We

started out with 40 men and women incarcerated throughout Virginia, and we are now 3,000+ strong!

We send our members (we do not call them inmates and prisoners) monthly newsletters with

information regarding education, new laws, financial literacy, parenting, life skills, etc... Many of our

members have been released and now operate their own nonprofits and community organizations to

give back. Please know that this initiative is not about us!

We are looking to partner students with the at-risk children of our members. It doesn’t matter where you

are -- YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE! We are asking that you please volunteer 1-2 hours per week

of your time to speak with a young person by phone or facetime which could save their lives!

Our founder who goes by the name ‘FREE’ knows this feeling firsthand. Free was that child who had an

incarcerated father. He grew up trying to figure out life! These are his personal words, “As hard as I tried,

the labyrinth my mind was stuck in, had eventually led me to prison. Please believe me because I mean

that LITERALLY. WE CAN STOP THIS NOW!”

So, we ask you, do you have 1-2 hours a week to make a difference? A moment to relate and provide

words of encouragement? A second to provide help with academic difficulties a child is facing. WE all

know that social media pressures and society’s expectations are raging. This is a moment for us to

espouse on an issue that only requires love, care, kindness, and time to correct.

Please reach out to join us in this effort to correct this problem. Our 13-year-olds do not need to be going

to prison in 5 years. WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING NOW! If you don't have the 1-2 hours a week to

save a young person maybe you know someone who does. This societal failure is on US to correct. This

has been a dream of mine and I personally have gone through the prison experience. I do not wish it on

anyone. Please sign up and make a difference today. we need you and the youth needs you.

Our organization is very proud of the work we've done over this past 4 years. We have received 100's of

emails from our members saying how we've impacted their lives. The focus now is providing that same

hope to the children left behind by a parent’s mistake. We are just as committed to our women members

as our men. I implore you to be a part of something special that is especially needed today in the climate

of today's world. Imagine that young person who will be immediately touched by your perspective and

relatability. All you have to do is send us an email or call and say, "I would like to assist in making a

difference in the life of a young person".
