40 Strong has written and supported measures and support of Health and Wellness styled operations in DOC. We strongly agree that the importance of mental health to rehabilitation is critical.
We provide College Guild courses Free of charge while ensuring our partnership with College Guild is growing to benefit our members educational growth.
We've provided our members parenting and social insight training to better equip our members in stressful prison environments. We also provide mentorship to our members.
We create Initiatives to PUSH Fair Parole Hearings and Second Chances.
Our organization has highlighted our members art and poetry at George Mason University as a partner with Inthrive Film Festival as well as other venues. We have showcased our members stories in our monthly newsletters, on our website The40Strong.com, and other social media outlets.
We have recently started 40 Strong Trucking, and we are now hiring returning citizens. In 2025 We plan to open our outreach program to assist returning citizens to help with reentry resources and also provide an after-school program to continue to educate and grow our youth.
The 40 Strong was founded 2021 by Virginia DOC prisoner Free and Nairobi X. Free wanted a newsletter full of information that could reach the population and Nairobi helped to bring that vision to life.
